Well well well. Podcasts. The only thing I knew about podcasts before 504 was iTunes and a wonderful podcast called "Ask A Ninja". I highly recommend it. Haha... needless to say I am/was clueless as to what podcasts were or what they do or how I could use them. I think the definitional part has been cleared up for me... but I'm still skeptical about my own ability to use them. I do think its a great tool for recording class lectures for students who were absent, and for providing project instructions/demonstrations, especially for the days when there is a substitute. Even though it appears I managed to make some podcasts and publish them I still don't understand how it all works and I'm not sure I could duplicate it, haha. Is there any difference between what we did in class and just uploading a file you have on your computer, be it video or audio? Conceptually to me, it doesn't, but all the things we were doing involved our cell phones and RSS and who knows what else. At least I still have some time to learn all this stuff before its my turn to do the weekly SMAC podcast.

I suck at making titles, obviously.

It was interesting talking about the fair use policies and the other sorts of legal issues surrounding the internet, I'm sure I'm guilty of some minor things but it just seems like there is just SO MUCH that no one would ever be able to keep it all straight and know what to do and when. The wikis were cool too, except for the part where I voted for PB and lost. I was pretty brain dead by friday so I'm not sure how much I actually absorbed but I know I'll be alright.

I think I'm beyond braindead now though... I've been keeping on top of all the assignments so that my weekends are fairly open, because my mom has been flying out here last weekend and this weekend to help me with wedding planning stuff... as if school & planning a wedding weren't hectic enough, try combining them and working on extremely tight deadlines for both!!!!! The break in august will be nice... but I'll be really busy then too and of course lets not forget 2 huge papers to be working on. Oh and I ride my horse almost every day to get ready for a show coming up in a month.

I don't mind being so busy though, it helps the time go by. Of course waking up in the mornings I ask myself what I got myself into.

I suppose thats all for now, more homework awaits.

Reflection #1

I think this class is going to be more interesting that I expected! I don't know a lot about what technologies exist, other than facebook and such. I'm looking forward to learning more- the chat room we used was certainly a bit distracting but I can see how it will be useful. The drawing activity was awful in the sense that I can't draw! I also don't know about things other than TV's and DVD players and computers... so the only other technology I had was a fish tank. I guess that's not technology though =) I can only imagine the things I will know about by the end of April that I'll be able to add...
Well I'm not sure what else to reflect on, so I suppose that's it for now.
